Thomas Page Dances
Founded in April 2016, Thomas Page Dances is a contemporary dance company based in Oxford presenting the work of Artistic Director Thomas Page and their collaborators. TPD’s work emerges at the intersections of choreography, education, and research with a continuously evolving lens of contemporary practices.
TPD’s choreographic work is rooted in socio-political ideas, creating dialogues with their audiences and collaborators through the universality of the physical language in the hope to encourage positive societal change. TPD works with a collective of contemporary dance artists and collaborators to bring new projects into existence.
TPD’s educational practice is primarily delivered through Thomas’ classes, workshops, lectures, and mentoring. In our home theatre, Pegasus Theatre in Oxford, The TPD Training Programme and TPD Young Artists provide local young dancers with high quality opportunities to collaborate, learn, and grow their artistry under the umbrella of contemporary dance.
TPD’s research uses practice as theorisation to embed sector development across the choreographic and educational aspects of our work. This method generates an ecology of practices to support the ambition of a sustainable, regenerative, and thriving dance ecology.
